Everything is Possible for God!

In this morning’s Bible reading I ran across this scripture:
Num. 11:23 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Is there any limit to my power? Now you will see weather or not my word comes true! (Quail to feed everyone for a month)

Which  reminded me of this one:
Gen 18:14 Is anything too hard for the Lord? About a year from now, just as I told you, I will return and Sarah will have a son.”
Both times God had to tell his children he was able to keep his word. I admit there are times I don’t trust the Lord as much as I should. If I was really trusting the MS would already be gone. It is lingering and I am learning some things through this but I do not buy into the notion God causes sickness to teach you something. All sickness comes from the devil. Look at Job 1:12 and 2:6 in both cases God permitted Satan to make trouble, but in both cases Satan suggested God do the deed of affecting Job’s property first then his health, and in both cases God did not touch Job Himself but let Satan. But one must remember that at the end of the book all was restored.

God has the power to feed over 60,000 people quail, that’s pheasant a delegacy. think how much would have been required to feed 60,000 for 30 days. Sarah, a ninety year old woman, had a son. Sarah must have been quite a remarkable woman around 15 years prior to this she was beautiful enough the Pharaoh had taken her into his harem. How many 75 year old women do you think would catch the eye of a lecturers king?  She had to have been very beautiful.

Shattered Not Just Broken

I have had a rough time since my last entry. I had a fall and landed badly shattering a number of bones in my hand and wrist. As I have told you before I have experienced healing after healing. In the last couple of weeks My husband, pastor, his wife and a few others have prayed over my hand. Many people in praying for healings see what is being healed I normally touch the person I’m praying for and feel their problem through my fingertips.

Romans 10:17 (NKJV) 17So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Pastor Phil, my former pastor from before I was married, quoted this frequently, often enough for it to soak though my thick skull. It is amazing what God can do when you get your unbelief out of the way. From earlier in Romans Paul taught about the Spirit of life freeing us from sin and death. That is a step on the famous Roman road. Salvation comes first for most people now but in the early church the healing came first to draw the convert in. As in Romans 8:2

Romans 8:2 (NKJV) 2For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.

Jesus set us free, a first healing.

Romans 8:11 (NKJV) 11But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.

I told you of the prayers for healing over my wrist. Many of the bones were shattered. The bones were rebuilt and the sharp, painful fragments removed. I need to share the news

Romans 8:37 – 9:1 (NKJV) 37Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.  38For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come,  39nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. 1I tell the truth in Christ, I am not lying, my conscience also bearing me witness in the Holy Spirit,

Hands Down

I’m sorry for not writing much of anything lately. With all my talking about healing I feel a bit embarrassed to say I had a fall and broke most of the bones of my hand and wrist. If you have read other parts of this blog in the episode about my parents Golden Wedding Anniversary you heard of my fall at my parent’s church and the break or sprain that day.

Well, there was no question this time the hand and arm had little breaks. My husband is a good prayer warrior. He started in praying even as he helped me up from the floor. It isn’t going as quickly as fifteen years ago but I as still recovering through just prayer and ice packs.

For that I would direct you to:

Isaiah 53:4 – 6 (NLT) 4 Yet it was our weaknesses he carried; it was our sorrows that weighed him down. And we thought his troubles were a punishment from God, a punishment for his own sins! 5 But he was pierced for our rebellion, crushed for our sins. He was beaten so we could be whole. He was whipped so we could be healed. 6 All of us, like sheep, have strayed away. We have left God’s paths to follow our own. Yet the LORD laid on him the sins of us all.

While I am living with my damaged hand I have had occasion to look as all aspects of my life. My Mario is continually dealing with old wounds , I am having occasion to do that now. (An old wound is usually a memory, often distant. of something you are holding unforgiveness about)

God Shows Mercy

2 Kings 20:5 – 6 (NKJV) 5“Return and tell Hezekiah the leader of My people, ‘Thus says the LORD, the God of David your father: “I have heard your prayer, I have seen your tears; surely I will heal you. On the third day you shall go up to the house of the LORD. 6And I will add to your days fifteen years. I will deliver you and this city from the hand of the king of Assyria; and I will defend this city for My own sake, and for the sake of My servant David.”’”

This was an Old Testament account of someone being healed. It is also an account of God changing his mind. In verse one Hezekiah was told get your house in order because you are about to die. I don’t know about you but that would upset me. It upset him he turned his face to the wall and prayed, in verse two. I have spent time crying to the Lord in times of sadness. Unlike the King I did not toot my own horn along with that. We joined the king after God told Isaiah to come back and promised he would live.

God rarely reverses his decisions. He did for Moses when Moses interceded for those who the Lord had taken out of Egypt. God wanted to wipe them out and start over with Moses’ descendants but Moses reminded him of his word to Abraham.

Hezekiah cried. the woman touched Jesus actually received healing before Jesus had even known she was there.

God did not cause our illnesses, that is Satan’s job. He is willing to heal us. We have to pray for one another. We have to stand on God’s promises and receive what he has provided for us.

“Would you like to get well?”

This morning I was reading John 5, and saw myself as the man who had spent so much time at the pool and was still sick.

John 5:1 – 9 (NLT) 1Afterward Jesus returned to Jerusalem for one of the Jewish holy days. 2Inside the city, near the Sheep Gate, was the pool of Bethesda, with five covered porches. 3Crowds of sick people—blind, lame, or paralyzed—lay on the porches. 5One of the men lying there had been sick for thirty-eight years. 6When Jesus saw him and knew he had been ill for a long time, he asked him, “Would you like to get well?” 7“I can’t, sir,” the sick man said, “for I have no one to put me into the pool when the water bubbles up. Someone else always gets there ahead of me.” 8Jesus told him, “Stand up, pick up your mat, and walk!” 9Instantly, the man was healed! He rolled up his sleeping mat and began walking! But this miracle happened on the Sabbath,

Jesus knew the man had been sick for a long time. That is why he asked the obvious question. “Would you like to get well?” I have been down with my various ailments for much longer than I ever had been with anything in the past. I frond myself wondering if I had lack of wanting to get well. I know I am sick of being sick, I have been for a long time.

For a time I was actually angry at Mario for praying for my healing and when the prayer was over finding no change. It felt like my fault when I didn’t get healed by his prayer. I am reminded of Kenneth Copeland teaching about aiming your prayers. He spoke of unaimed prayers being like scatter shot. That is rather like buckshot. You have a tube with pellets of shot propelled by the gun. Only one really has to hit to get the animal. The idea being it only takes one prayer to be right and hit to get the job done. That is not the most efficient approach. Mario had been going after a stroke and never thought to ask if the problem could be something else. The MS just went unnoticed and as the scriptures say, “You have not because you ask not.” Yes, I wanted to get well but I was wondering around without a map to guide me. I was trying to reach the Pacific coast by driving east.

I needed to change directions.
